I believe this is linked to more crashing issues than just my dual screen problem so be sure you check it out if you are having strange crashing issues.
The fix was to go in to msconfig and disable Nahimic service to keep it from running and no more crashes! I'll be trying to work with tech support to resolve the issue but if anyone else has any insights or experience dealing with it I would be grateful!Īfter many days and trying a million different things the root cause was discovered.īackground processes being run by "Nahimic service" that I believe is related to audio drivers was the culprit. This would have to be done every time a project is opened and if kept as dual screen the project would crash when opening. Edit: Seems like you cannot hide the default Media Pool in Dual Screen mode. The only work around I have found successful is by changing the primary display to display 2 in Resolve, then choosing dual screen. I think, the only option is to enable Dual Screen, float the Media Pool (right-click a bin and select 'Open In New Window') and put that on the third monitor. I have tried unplugging and re-plugging in the monitors. I have tried using "display GPU for compute" on and off. I have tried re-installing Resolve multiple times. I have tried re-installing latest nvidia drivers multiple times (creator as well as gaming).
This is in Resolve Studio 15.3.1 and the monitors are 2 1440p dell screens (same models). It's on a fresh system build with Windows 10 64bit Home install, 64gb RAM, latest Nvidia drivers. It appears to be an issue multiple people have experienced with no answers on how to fix. It will just freeze up and stop responding after selecting the dual monitor option when in the color page. I've been trying to get a fresh build up and running but have been getting issues with DaVinci Resolve crashing when attempting to use the dual monitor option.
